Heather
Claremont-Sullivan
Heather
is from Somers, Connecticut. She received her Bachelor of
Fine Arts Degree concentrating in Illustration and Graphic
Design at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Heather
illustrates primarily in pen & ink, watercolor, colored
pencil and mixed media. She also works with black & white
photography and electronic media. Aside from her artwork,
Heather enjoys spoiling her cats, Miles and Ivan, working
in the maternity unit of a local hospital, and visiting historical
places. The illustrations for "Thank You, Noah,"
"Thank You, Jesus" and "Gracias, Noé"
were done in watercolor pencil and acrylic. |
Margaret
Ray James
Margaret grew up in Condord, North
Carolina where imagination and creativity were a vital part
of small town life. She received an Associates Degree in Commercial
Art from Central Piedmont Community College and a Bachelor
of Fine Arts Degree from the University of North Carolina.
Her fine art works have been exhibited in solo exhibitions,
regional juried exhibitions and are in the collections of
corporate and private collectors. Margaret has been an art
history and design instructor as well as a fashion illustrator,
but now devotes her energy towards children's book illustration
and writing, design projects and 3-D works of art. She lives
in Charlotte, North Carolina with her husband, two children
and one crazy dog named Jake. Margaret illustrated "Thank
You, Moses," "Thank You, Paul" and "Thank
You, Esther." |
| Mary
Beth Blackley
Mary Beth is a native of Charlotte,
North Carolina. She graduated from Furman University with
a Bachelor of Arts degree in Studio Art. She freelances in
calligraphy, invitation and card design, and illustration.
She and her husband, David, own and operate Renfrow Hardware
in Matthews, North Carolina, where she is bookkeeper and office
manager. They have three daughters, Pressly, Charlotte, and
Martha. Aside from art, bookkeeping, and raising three girls,
Mary Beth is active in the PTA, the Presbyterian Church, a
scrapbooking group, and enjoys reading fiction in every spare
moment. Look for "Rocky" the rooster on each two
page spread of "Thank You, Peter"! |
Miriam
Sagasti
Miriam is a Pervuian-born artist.
She grew up in Lima, the youngest of five brothers and sisters.
In Lima, she studied interior design and landscape architecture.
In 1978, Miriam moved to the US with her husband and three
children. She has won numerous awards for her graphic design,
photography, and illustrations. A member of the Society of
Children's Books Writers and Illustrators, she has illustrated
more than a dozen published books, as well as many puzzles
and magazines. She lives in Chapel Hill with her husband of
thirty years and her two dogs. Miriam has illustrated, "Thank
You, Solomon," "Thank You, Ruth and Naomi"
and "Thank You, God."

Evelyn
Diane Overcash
Evelyn grew up in Rowan County,
North Carolina. After graduating from Appalachian State
University with a Bachelors degree in art, she took off
for Europe and spent two years working and traveling. Upon
returning to the US, she moved to California where she discovered
backpacking, camping, and the breath-taking wilderness of
southern California and Mexico. Evelyn illustrated "Thank
You, Mary."
